lyrics

Looking for a shred of freedom
I see my conscience denied,
As if a slave I covet and beg
While deftly this I hide,
The changes I've gone through
Didn't change what I'd become,
A weakling, servant, peasant
To the overlords, my own

Body is not mine to command,
The rule of law has forced me to bend
To this severance from ourselves -
A lie for which all mankind fell.

Many have died
On mankind's battlefields,
Many feel lost,
Before altars they kneel,
Many have sought
To reach their gods but they still
Fall into madness,
Devoid of will

Displacement, our greatest woe,
Leverage used by those
Who shall try to insiduously control
The direction of our suicide,
Herded gently to their knives
Dreaming of monolithic lies,

Sacredness has shackled our morals
To a notion of submission and servitude,
The lash still cracking at our backs
Has in it all our fingerprints imbued,

The horrors of what I've done
Are eased by what I've got,
The suffering I take part in
Inflicted on my own lot,
Pitted against each other
We fight as if in a ring,
No choice but to kill another
Freedomless human being.
