Struggle is the game
We're forced to play all day
While blood and sweat rewards

A mindset dominates
This ending of an age,
Its broken set of ways,
A force to subjugate,

Sedated we remain,

Dreading sleepless nights alone
For fear of losing home,

A fractured sense of morality,
A loss of will and purpose,
Dread of new experiences,
Sickness of souls rampant,

A human herd to the slaughter
Grazing touches on screens lit
With artificial lights faking
Artificial love and meaning

Begging for help in despair
With no known medicine,
Our impulse to consume
Takes charge of our whole,

While flirting with evil
Our darkest days will come
And shower us with disdain
As we slowly become

A scornful, base kind,
Bereft of all virtue,
Rabid beasts, plague remnants,
A blight to be erased,

Condemned to live among
The ashes of our spring,
Our crushed and weary soul
Forgets how to sing

This night, this darkness is seeping through my soul,
And I wonder how much more I can withstand
Until I leave behind myself and fall within their world,
All our dreams are lost.

Spread thin from the start
A conscience so fragile,

On a fear and concrete dystopia,

Hollow, gone, empty eyes,

Forced afflictions,
Forced upon our children,
Hidden rulers,
Hidden in their wealth,
Prostitution
Of our soul and body,
Dissolution
Of our hearts and minds
